A Community That’s Anything but Traditional
Beige khakis, silver minivans, white picket fences. Soccer practice and orange slices, golf shirts and garages. This is Richmond Hill.
Or at least it was. Introducing another Richmond Hill.
An overstuffed easy chair is traded for something sleeker. Double-double becomes double-shot. Instead of another pink brick condo, a stacked town and townhome community unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
Introducing Usocial.
It looks like it could be on the cover of a geometry textbook. It’s minimal but all its parts are working. The boxy aesthetic feels intentional and purposeful, unusual but not for the sake of attention. It’s confident without being pretentious. The longer you look the more inspired it seems. And you begin to wonder why everything else is so boring.
A designer would get lost in the details. An architect would say it has good bones. Spare enough to inspire but not so devoid of character that it feels unwelcoming. It seems like the sort of place that would house a large collection of well-read coffee table books. It’s the space that strong espresso, provocative furniture, and rainy afternoons were designed for.
Usocial is familiar but not stale, convenient without sacrificing character, and close enough to downtown to make going downtown a regular thing. It could be home to design shops that turn car parts into chandeliers, or textile stores that only stock rare Japanese denim. It’s the sort of place that makes you wish you brought a camera. Even just to walk the dog.
